About the blog

This is the era of the blogosphere where time span is short – shorter than the space between the ink on newsprint and the fish it is a wrapper for.

This is the era when life expectancy of a book on the store’s shelf is shorter than that of tomatoes; a time span when the paper’s acid content will dissolve the pages before the writer expires. Hence, this is the era of the Blogosphere.

The writer of these lines has no delusions about his place in the universe. In the Rosh Hashana JEWISH prayer it is said, “A man’s origin is from dust and his destiny is back to dust, at risk of his life he earns his bread; he is likened to broken shard, withering grass, a fading leaf, a passing shade, a dissipating cloud, a blowing wind, flying dust, and a fleeting dream.” But since people are capable of forming an opinion they are inclined to leave a legacy behind.

These were the thoughts that crossed my mind when I put this site together with the help of my beloved son Tal.. Its purpose is to be repository for my past written work, providing it has some contemporary value, and to add future writing expressing opinion, investigative reporting, reports on literature and interviews with people of letters, the sciences and others.

The articles here were written in Hebrew, the language of the Bible and Israel, but until everybody is fluent in Hebrew, and the prophet Isaiah words (Isaiah 2, 2) “…and unto it shell flow all the nations,” become true, the universal lingua franca is English. Therefore, an English version of these blog became a necessity and a reality a while ago. I hope the English reader will get here some idea of the political, cultural, literary, scientific and economic thoughts of the vibrant State of Israel. I feel it is way more important to provide opportunities to unheard or little heard voices to be heard than to merely preserve my own voice.

Any self-identified reader who may require further clarification and/or additional material may contact me by email, and I will provide assistance within my capabilities and limitations.
